Review: Eona by Alison Goodman

Eona is just as good as the first book, Eon. The plot is probably better. But I had a few personal issues with it; so didn't like it more. But loved it just as much, still :D I'm so glad I read these books. I have gotten a big love for Fantasy books. And this is a huge fantasy book. So, so good. Also; I am in love with this cover. It is simply stunning. And so.. powerful.

I'm having trouble deciding how to describe this book. You probably shouldn't read this review if you have not read the first book. But you can still do so; if you don't mind being spoiled about it :) I'm having trouble finding words because I loved this book so much. Eona starts right where Eon ended. A couple of days later. With the Pearl Emperor missing, Ryko dying, Ido captured.

It ended with so much pain. And the sequel starts with so much pain. So much death. But it is also all so amazing. Ryko is dying, like I said. But no one wants him to die. Eona has lots of power; but she doesn't know how to use it. But she manages to use her dragon powers to heal Ryko. And it kills so so many because of the little control. And omg. So much changes with that healing.

There is so much betrayal in this book. So much pain and heartbreak. So much suffering and torture. It is all truly horrible. But it is also so extremely good. The story is so captivating, and the characters are so amazing, and the writing is still perfect. It isn't possible not to love this book. Not to love this story. This book makes you feel so many things at once. Good and bad.

Don't want to talk about the plot. It is too awesome. A must read for yourself ;) But know that it is amazing. It is surprising at times, and exciting, and horrible and all kinds of amazing. So much is happening. It is an amazing fantasy book. And I loved it so much. It is all building until the end. Sort of. Although everything is just as big and important. But the ending was the climax.

Like so many other books this book ends at the end of a big fight/showdown. And I sort of loved it. The ending is amazing. But oh. So many dies. I hated that this one person died. Loved that another person did. So confusing. But so good. The ending is good, but I also wish there would be a sequel. The ending could be final; but so many things could be in a sequel. Really wish for it :)

Time to talk about the characters. There is Kygo. He is an amazing character. Think I loved him the most. He is kind and so damn sweet. Wish he could be my boyfriend. But he is the rightful emperor, and he has a huge responsibility. But the thing is, I understood that. I knew that his people came first. It is the way it is. Hated that Eona didn't understand that. She didn't undertand much :\

But Kygo is so amazing. He didn't deserve to be treated the way Eona treated him at times. But I also wished them together. Then there was Lady Dela and Ryko. They does make a great couple ;) Lady Dela is an amazing character. Liked her. But didn't like Ryko much in this book. He seemed so mean. But, I could also understand why. Even though I did not like it.

Then there was Lord Ido. I hated him. But I also sort of liked him. He was so broken when he was captured. It hurt me to see it. But because of my love for Kygo I did not love Ido. Plus, he is a bastard. A murdering bastard. Who only cares about what he wants. I could say he manipulates Eona, but he doesn't. I blame her for everthing she did; because she's changed too much.

You see, I love Eona. In a way she was a better character in this book. But I found her to be worse. I loved the romance between her and Kygo. It was real and sweet and so good. But she doesn't trust him. She keeps so many important things from him; and I sort of hated her for it. And then she has the nerve to be hurt when he keeps a few small things from her. It is not fair. And she keeps hurting him.

I hated that. She didn't seem to care much for him :( And it was unfair. Because he is so good and I adored him. I do believe she loves him, but I also believe she was a whole lot of selfish and wanted power more. At least through over the half of the book. Then she did something even worse. She started to do things with Ido. Through their dragon power; lots of passion/pleasure. Hated it.

She kissed him, and she liked it. And I hated her for it. Especially since she never told Kygo. But Ido did. And omg! I hated that even more. But then, I sort of feel that she got her punishment for it near the end (A) That is probably evil of me, but I do not care. Still, though. Even though she was so consumed by the power in this book I still loved her. She is an amazing character.

Can't believe I forgot to mention the romance. Even though Eona isn't so kind in this book, there is romance. There isn't very much, but there is amazing romance between Eona and Kygo. It is so sweet. And so perfect. And I loved it a whole lot. Wish there had been more; but I am happy with what there was :) Because it was real. And I loved their kisses ;p

We see more of the dragons in this book. And I loved that. It was all so amazing. Won't spoil it. But I did love the bond between them :) There is so much amazing in this book. You really musn't miss it. If you have read Eon you MUST read Eona. <3 If you haven't read either, read them both. Worth it.

Review: Eon by Alison Goodman

I am so happy I learned about this book this week. Haven't ever seen the cover before this week, but the minute I saw it I knew I had to own these books. I'm a book cover lover. And then I read the summary, and I was sold. Needed it. And yesterday Eon arrived :D Was so happy. But Eona did not arrive, (no mail today) so was unsure if I should wait. I didn't. So glad I didn't. Gonna read Eona on my iPad now.

Eon is such an amazing book. It is amazing from the first page. The writing is stunning, and the characters are so so so good. And the story is incredible. This is a book that I did not want to put down at any times. And I didn't. Something is happening at all times, and it is all so damn good. Everyone really should read this book. It is an amazing Fantasy book. Lots of action, but it is also a sort of.. sweet book, in a way. If that makes any sense. It is from a girl's pov, and I'm glad for that :)

If you have already read the summary, then you know that the main character in this book is Eon. Or, really, Eona a 16 year old girl pretending to be a 12 year old boy. That is something that you need to know before starting this book. She is pretending to be so, because she want to be one of the Dragoneyes. Which is an awesome thing to be. But only a 12 year old boy can be chosen.

If anyone knew she was a girl she would be killed; both her and her master. Eona lives in a house with her master and his workers. He seemed like such an asshole, but I do suppose he was kind. Sometimes. He cared for Eona, it seemed. But there wasn't anything between them; and I'm glad for that, because he was over 40. I loved reading about where she lived. So many amazing characters.

Like Rilla and Chart. I think I missed the explanation of what Chart was. But I did know that he was a 14 year old boy living under the kitchen table. He seemed to be deformed. But oh. He was really sweet, and I liked him a lot :) Eona had some great friends. Only those two, but still :)

Eona is an really amazing character. I loved her from the beginning. She is a cripple. Somewhat. Her hip is about broken, so she drags her leg a lot and is in a lot of pain. And I hated that. But oh, I loved her so much more for it. Loved that she wasn't perfect. She is also kind, and smart, and an really awesome character. She does some really stupid things though, later, but I forgive her ;)

I don't want to give away the plot in this book. Because so much is happening and it would be amazing for you to read it yourself. But I will say some things. There are dragons in this book. But they aren't like normal dragons, I think. There were 12. And I loved how they did that :)  But, uhm, I won't manage to describe it :p I don't think the dragons are visible to others. They are energy dragons.

And there is a lot of mention of people's energy in this book. But I did like it :) It just really confused me at times :p There are a few more awesome characters in this book. Like Lady Dela. Liked her. And Ryko. Liked him as well. They aren't normal, but oh, how I liked that there were so many different kinds of people in this book. Then there was Kygo. And I think he will be an awesome love interest :D

He better be. There weren't any romance in this book. You know, considering Eona was a boy to everyone. Except to her master and Rilla. They knew what she was :) And I'm happy for that. But I do think there will be romance in the next book ;) At least, I hope so. Another thing in this book I didn't like was the Sun powder. It was awesome, but I didn't like it. It was interesting, though :)

Then there is the bad guy in this book. Ido. And omg! I hated him. Although, I probably could have learned to love him if he was the love interest (A) But he isn't. He can't be. He is just so evil, and he kills so many people. Sort of. He is just an terrible person. But he made this book so good. And I loved that. He is an awesome villain.

Don't know what else to say about this book. The plot is amazing. The characters are perfect. The writing is perfect. And everything is just so good. It is a long book, but every page needed to be there. It ends in a cliffhanger; but that don't matter if you have the second book as well :) You really need to read Eon. It is a must read. <3

Review: The Vicious Deep by Zoraida Córdova

I have waited for this book. I wanted it because of the gorgeous cover, and the amazing summary. So I had high hopes for this book. So I'm really, really disappointed that it wasn't any good. I'm sure others think it's good, but I didn't. Not at all. It could have been amazing, it really could. But it wasn't. Not to me. And I hated that. Giving it a three stars; and even that feels like too much. Update: Decided to give it a two stars; because that is the way I felt about it.

You should all know by now that I cannot love a book if I do not like the writing. And I didn't like the writing in this book. It isn't bad, it is actually a little good. I just couldn't get into it. It didn't make me feel anything for anything in this book. Well, except for some heartbreak and that was not a positive thing. I also cannot stand any sort of love triangle. And there sort of is one. Sort of.

The book starts out sort of good. I'm a bit confused. Because I thought this book would be all mermaids, but it isn't. It is mostly about High School. And I hated that. Have gotten enough of those stories :p Especially since I was expecting amazing mermaids and such from this book. But there are mermaids. And other awesome creatures. They just weren't done well. I didn't enjoy them like I wanted.

We get to see a lot of mermaids in this book, well, at least a few. And I didn't like any of them. They just seemed so.. less. Some seemed kind, and it didn't make sense to me. Expected this book to be pretty dark. Really need to stop expecting things. There are dark parts in this book, but there aren't much. And they weren't really good, either.

But I did enjoy the plot. I would have. If the characters had been even a tiny bit likable. But they weren't. At all. I didn't like a single character in this book. And I hated that :( First there is Tristan. The main character. I felt for him at times, but I hated him. He is supposed to be in love with his best friend, but he is still fucking tons of other girls all the time. Don't get it.

And he acted too much like a boy. Although I don't think boys are like that. Not really. Which is why I couldn't like him. I just didn't feel anything for him at all. Then there were his parents. Didn't feel a single thing for them either. Especially not his mother. She just seemed so.. cruel, in a way. Then there were Tristan's best friend; Layla. And I could have liked her. Could have.

But she's acting like a bitch in all the book. At least, in my eyes. She might have been right to do so, but that is only why I hated it so much. It seems like she loves Tristan, but she never says a single thing. She is mean to him most of the time. Then she starts flirting with his new friend; Kurt, right in front of him. And I hated her for it. I really did.

Kurt could have been an awesome character if he hadn't been liking the girl Tristan loves. Which he should totally know, btw. It was very obvious. But I did like his sister. Sort of. For the most part :) There were a few other characters in this book as well. But, didn't really like any of them. Didn't feel anything, like I said. And I'm really sad about that.

Anyway. This book could have been amazing. But there were too much high school and drama for it to be any good to me. I didn't like it. Would have, if it weren't for the things I mentioned. Also disappointed in how fast it ended. The book is long, but nothing ever really happens. Everything that happens could have been just 100 pages, in my opinion. Wished to know more of the plot.

But still. I will be reading the sequel. But I will be peeking at so many things in it before I know if I wish to read it :p Anyway! If you do not mind the things I did mind, then I think you will like this book :)

Review: Free Four: Tobias Tells the Story by Veronica Roth

Free Four is only just a really short scene from Tobias's point of view. It is 13 pages long. But it is 13 pages of so much amazing writing and thinking. This won't really be much of an review, just a few of my thoughts :D The details about Free Four you can see here. And you can read it yourself here :)

This tiny scene from Four's POV is amazing. We get to go inside my favorite character's head. And it is so so good. It is a scene from early in the book, one of the Dauntless training scenes. And I loved that. Would have wished for a different scene; but this was just so good. So I'm glad it was this one. We get to learn how Four is thinking, and what he thinks of Tris.

Four is a really.. complicated person. In a way. But he is also so sweet and kind and he is just a good person. He has a heart. Unlike many other characters in this book :D I liked reading this scene from his side. And I really wish there will be more like it. I need more Four. He really is my favorite character in this amazing book series by Veronica Roth. And I adore it all. <3

Divergent is my all time favorite book. And I am hoping Insurgent will be just as good, if not better :) I cannot wait to read it. Luckily, it's only a few days left now. What I wish for the most is more Four. More romance between him and Tris, but also more about Four's past. It is all just so heartbreaking. And I love it so much. So, yeah, wish for more of that :)

This short story is a must read if you have read Divergent and wish to know how Four is thinking :) And if you still have not read Divergent, then I do not know what to say. You really should have read it by now! ;) Divergent is a must read book for everyone. And that's that. Also: really wish Veronica will write the Fear Landscape scene from Four's POV one day :D That is one of my favorite scenes from Divergent. So heartbreaking and so good. Veronica's blog post regarding Free Four is here.

Goodreads - My recommendation of Divergent

Review: The Gathering Storm by Robin Bridges

I'm having some issues with how to rate this book. On the one hand, it was beyond amazing. The writing was perfect, the setting was amazing. And the characters were great. It isn't a normal old-fashioned book. It has lots of unusual things, with lots of action and excitement. But. It also had no romance; which sucked because I thought there would be romance. It said so. There was a tiny bit, but too little.

And the main character kept thinking she had to "save" everyone; keep them safe. By lying and not being with them. And I just can't stand that :p Didn't like it. Then there was that whole time jumping o.O So much timed passed all the time. Which is why I'm giving this book a four star. Or a four point five star. But that is the only things I disliked about it :) Time to talk about what I loved :D

The Gathering Storm is an amazing book. The writing is really good; which is important to me. I also really enjoyed the time this book is set it. It was really entertaining to read about. There was just so much happening. Well, except for those time jumps. I don't know much of Russia; even though I live very close to it. So it was really awesome to learn more :)

The plot in this book is amazing. So much amazing things happen. But also so many horrible things. Lots of deaths, too. But it was all so good. Don't want to spoil it; but there are many.. gifts in this book. People who can do different things. And I enjoyed it so much! A bit different; but still so so good. There are lots of balls in this book. And I loved that as well.

Then there is all the amazing characters. I liked the main character; Katiya. She is awesome. Kind, and sweet. But also a bit naive at times. But I loved that she wished to be a docter; even if it isn't possible in Russia at the time. I loved that she had a personality. Also loved that her family was rich! She is an important person in this time; and I liked that.

I liked her father and her brother. Sort of liked her mother. But not really. She was kind, but she didn't seem to care about her daughter being happy. Oh, well. I liked Katiya's friends. They were all awesome. Except for one. But she wasn't really a friend. Also liked the school she was going to. It seemed sort of awesome :) Liked everything about her life.

But then that Danilo arrived. And I hated him! Hated how he controlled her. This book may seem like a love triangle, but it isn't. There is just trickery and I hated it. Hated Danilo and his horrible family. They were no good. But they did make it an awesome story ;) Then there was George. And there could have been such a good romance. And there was. But only so little. And I need more. Much more.

George may seem like an asshole at first; but I didn't mind ;) He is an amazing character. Sweet, and kind. And so so good. He is perfect for her. And oh! I just wished there were more romance :( There was this tiny part at the end, but it was so little and it didn't end well. There MUST be more in the next one! And no triangle. At all. Okay? Please. Need the next one now, please :)

Sorry for this sort of short review. But my hand is hurting so much. Did manage to share my thoughts, though :D The Gathering Storm is an amazing book. The story is so good, and so good written. It is perfect. And the characters are really great as well. And the little romance is good. Sort of. Cannot wait for the sequel. <3 Needs it. If you have not read this book, you really need to do so :)

Review: Wildefire by Karsten Knight

This book had the potential to be amazing. I'm very sad that it ended up disappointing me. I wanted it to be good, and at first it was. Although there were some things I didn't like even in the first few pages. But the story seemed interesting, and the writing was really good. That is one thing I liked in this book. The writing. Because it was good, it was just the rest that wasn't any good. At least, not to me.

I don't know how to write my review of this book. Because right now I'm not having any positive thoughts at all :\ But then. It is probably just the way I felt about this book. I'm sorry for it, but it's just the way it is. There is something I cannot stand while reading, and some things I just do not like. And Wildefire had lots of those. Although it was mostly just me not liking it.

The book starts out good enough. I liked the writing right away. But I didn't agree with how the main girl, Ashline, was acting. How she was as a person. Because to me she never seemed "real." And I didn't feel anything for her or with her. Which really sucked. The book starts with her punching a girl. And I sort of liked it, but it all seemed so silly and I just didn't enjoy it at all.

Then we get to see Ashline's sister; Eve. And she was even more confusing. Didn't think she seemed real either. They just acted so weird, and talked so weird, and I just could not fall in love with it. But even though I didn't like the characters, I did find them interesting to read about. They had some interesting facts about them, and I did like it. A bit.

But then we got to know so many characters and it started to confuse me. And then the plot started happening. And the plot could have been amazing, but I found it to be sort of silly. And I do like silly, I just didn't in this book. The plot didn't make sense to me. It confused me a whole lot most of the time, as well. And, well, it would have been better if they had been older than 16.

Then there was the romance. Or lack of romance. There wasn't any. I guess it was supposed to be, but it didn't feel real. And I didn't feel anything at all. First of all, we don't learn ANYTHING about the love interest; Colt. And we barely see him. And suddenly they are kissing, and Ash is ready to have sex with him, which was not beliveable at all. It was just.. weird.

I wish the romance had been better. But it wasn't. Then that ending happened, and it wasn't really good at all. And then I read the summary for book two, and I am once again hating a book I have not read. "Love triangle." You see. Don't make sense. And I hate it already :p But! I am going to read the sequel. At least peek at the ending and such.

Back to the story. I didn't think the story was believeable or written very well. Then there were the badly written characters. I mean, they could have been awesome. And others probably think they are. I just didn't. First, Ash is swearing all the time, calling everyone for a bitch. No one does that. I haven't heard of anyone who talks like that. And I am a teen. It was all just really silly.

The book sort of reminded me of The Harbinger with the plot and the school thing. But then, it wasn't anything alike and I liked The Harbinger much better. The sisters reminded me of Imaginary Girls, but not really because they didn't act like sisters at all. And. Sigh. I'm just being negative, ain't I? Oh well. Sorry for that, but I didn't really like this book. And I wished to share my feelings about it.

I'm sure there are many more things about this book I disliked. But then I would go on forever, and I'm sure no one is even reading this anymore :p Oh, well. This book could be worth reading, if you like a weird plot and don't mind badly written characters :) It is sort of good. Just not for me. Also; all the chapters ended with a cliffhanger. And then, in the next chapter, it starts off the next day! And we never learned what happened next. And that sucked very much. Didn't like that.

I think I'm giving this book a 2,5 star. A two star seems too little, but a three star also seems like too much, in a way. I did like this book, but only I little. I had a lot of trouble reading it.

Review: City of Fallen Angels by Cassandra Clare

City of Fallen Angels is a bit shorter than the other books in length. But I still sort of thought it was better then them all. And that I find a bit weird. Because it was also the most horrible, and heartbreaking. But it was just so good. It only took me two and a half days to re-read the four books in The Mortal Instruments series. That was a bit fast. And it is killing my eyes, to be honest.

I have very mixed feelings about this book. I was so happy there would be more books; because I couldn't stand giving up Jace. And this book, it is amazing. The writing is perfect. The characters are perfect. Most of the time. And the plot is even better. But it also has a few flaws I didn't like. But there wasn't really many of those flaws. This book was the one I didn't want to stop reading.

City of Fallen Angels starts 6 weeks after City of Glass ends. And things seems to be going amazingly. Jace and Clary are happy together; as is Alec and Magnus. And Simon, well, Simon is a bit of an asshole, but he seems mostly happy with his life. But that's just it. We didn't get to see any of them being happy. And I hated that. It started right with lots of pain and hurt.

I shall start with Simon. Simon is dating two girls at once, and he hasn't told either of them. I was disappointed in him; because I didn't think he would do that. But I also can't really blame him because he isn't human anymore; so he isn't the same. I liked Simon a lot more in this book. He isn't trying to split Jace and Clary anymore. And he is a better character ;)

Then there was Isabelle. I loved her in this book. She has a bigger role in it, and I can't wait to see more of her. Thinks she is awesome; and would be great for Simon. Then there is Maia. I like her, just not for Simon :D We got to learn more about her. And Kyle. Unsure if I liked him or not. He is an asshole, but I pity him a bit, as well. Then there was Jocelyn; Clary's mother. I still don't like her.

She is now a couple with Luke; and I adore Luke. For the most part. But Jocelyn still seems so.. mean, to me. Because she doesn't like Jace at all. And I really can't stand that. And I have a huge fear for what she will do about it in the next book. Hopefully nothing. Then there was Magnus and Alec. And omg! They are my favorite couple besides Jace and Clary. Magnus is still so cute and adorable. And I just love everything that comes out of his mouth. He is perfect with Alec.

I wish I could say I liked Clary more in this book. And I sort of did. But she still has the same flaws. I don't feel like she cares much about Jace. She seems to only be concerned about her own hurts and her own pain. I wish she would care more for Jace. And I just hope she will in the next book :) But I did love reading about her. Because she is an amazing character.

And Jace. I have seen people saying they didn't like Jace in this book. And I do not understand it. Because I loved Jace the most in this book. He is so broken, and vulnurable and adorable. He is way too cute not to like. And I just love the broken boy. And omg. Jace is so broken in this book. It is hard for me to read about it. It is just so much pain. But oh, I loved it. A whole lot.

There were also a few new characters in this book; like 14 year old Maureen. I liked her. Sort of. She seems evil. But I kept picturing a 10 year old. And I felt so sorry for her. But I'm also worried about when we'll see her next. It worries me. Then there was Camille. She was in the Infernal Devices as well. And I can't stand her, really. She is just.. not a good person. But a great character, still.

Anyway, back to the plot. The plot in this book is really amazing. Still so unique, a bit more so than the previous ones. It doesn't have the same villain as before, but it still has a villain. And omg. It was so creepy and horrible but also so amazing to read about. It is all so fascinating, in a way. There is so much happening in this book. It is heartbreaking from the beginning to the end.

But it is also not that bad. Considering the book is only happening in a few days. And that is why I loved it. Then there is the romance. The romance in this book is a lot more hot than the previous ones. But there is also very little of Jace in this book, to be honest. And that made me really sad. But I have high hopes for the next one ;)

I don't want to give away too much about the plot. But, yeah, so much happening and it is all awesome. Then there is that horrible ending. But I didn't really mind it much. Well, I was hating on Clary for not staying with Jace, and I was angry with her in the beginning of the book for only feeling sorry for herself and not thinking much of Jace. But still. The ending, it is cruel, the last 4 pages.

But I also loved it, in a way. It made sense. And it didn't break me like it seems to have done to others. Because I still have hope about it. And I don't think it will be so bad, in the next books. Hoping there will be a solution :) And I think there will be. I'm extremely excited for City of Lost Souls. And I cannot wait for it to come out! Think it will be awesome. It better be ;)

City of Fallen Angels is a must read if you have read the first three books in this series. I think it is just as good, if not even better, than the first three. It really is a must read. <3 Although it is mostly from Simon's POV. But not always, and it is always amazing :)

Review: City of Glass by Cassandra Clare

I do believe City of Glass is my favorite out of these books. It still has the same amazing writing as the previous ones, and the same amazing story. Only better. And the same lovable characters; which was good. But I do not enjoy reading the first 185 pages. Although the first 110 pages is alright; I think. Still. The book is so much better after those pages :D It is all so exciting and horrible and good.

City of Glass starts right where City of Ashes ended. A few days later. And I'm glad about that. Although also sad; because City of Ashes ended sad and I wished it had been happier. The story in this book takes place in Idris; the home of the Shadowhunters. And I loved that! Idris is an awesome place. It sounds so beautiful. And also a bit peaceful.

They are all there, in Idris. Jace, Clary, Simon, Alec, Isabelle and Magnus. My favorite characters :D Well, maybe not Simon so much, but still ;) I liked him a lot more in this book. Somehow. He's improved a lot since the first two books. And Isabelle is just awesome. A really great character :) And I adore Alec. Liked the scene between him and Jace near the beginning; when Jace confronts him.

And Magnus I cannot help but love. He is just way too adorable. He is kind and sweet and loving but also sort of evil and scary. Considering he is an Warlock and all ;p But I loved the relationship between Alec and Magnus. It is love. And it is so sweet and good and I adored it. Hope they will always be together :)

I'm not sure if I liked Clary more in this book. I hated her in the beginning. Some may have hated Jace because of what he said to her; but he had his reasons. And I, for one, think he was right about much of it. I'm just really pissed at Clary for never seeming to care about Jace at all. First it was with the "dating" of Simon in book two. And in this book she is kissing with Sebastian. Hated it.

And Sebastian. He seemed like such a sweet boy. But he isn't. He is evil and cruel and I hated hated hated him. But oh, he made the book so so interesting. Well, except the kissing part. Wished to rip those pages out, to be honest. Just couldn't stand that Clary did that. Oh, well. That is just my issue with it :) But besides that, I really did like Clary.

She is a lot different in this book. Still a bit selfish most of the time, but she has grown up some. And I liked that. Then there was her mother. And I really did not like her. She's been lying to her daughter for her whole life. And I did not approve. I, for one, would not have forgiven her for it. Plus, I don't like how she is in the next book ;p

And then there is Jace. And, sigh. Jace is still my favorite character in this book series. As he will always be. He is the sweetest and cutest and the most perfect boy. I adore him so much. <3 He may seem mean to many, but he isn't. Not really. He is just hurting and broken and I am hating it. I hate that he is in so much pain. It just isn't fair. Jace deserves to be happy.

There were some things I wasn't that happy about in this book. Like Jace and Clary losing their stele's. It just seems so sad. I would have been sad. Reminds me of Harry Potter losing his wand. And I did not like that. I did however like the runes Clary made. Also liked the mark of Cain. Really excited to find out more about that :) Think it will be awesome.

There is many new characters in this book; many bad ones. But also some great ones :) Loved reading about them all. City of Glass has tons of action, and suspense, and horror and some amazing romance. This book really has it all. Tons of heartbreak. But also so much joy. And I loved it so much.

There is a lot of deaths in City of Glass. Many horrible deaths, but I didn't care about so many of them. But there was this one death that I hated. And it broke me. It is just so cruel and heartbreaking and sniffs. So sad. But it does make the story so good. But still! Wished it hadn't happened. But I also understand why it had to happen. Hope it focus more on it in book five.

Valentine is still the bad guy in this book. And oh! He is so evil. But, I can also somehow understand him. But I do not agree with the killings and torturing. It is just cruel. Especially that part with Ithuriel. It was just so so brutal. And I hated it. But I also loved it. If that makes any sense at all. Then there is the ending of this book. So much was happening it was hard to keep up. But the ending is both horrible and amazing. It is a great ending. But also a great beginning, in a way.

I don't know what else to say about this book. It is just so good. If you have read the first two books in The Mortal Instruments; then you really need to read City of Glass. Because it is the perfect finale. Although there are three more books.. ;) And I am so happy about that. But this could have been the last book :) It is most definitely worth reading.

Favorite quote.

"There is no pretending," Jace said with absolute clarity.
"I love you, and I will love you until I die, and if there's a life after that, I'll love you then."

Review: City of Ashes by Cassandra Clare

I was very nervous about re-reading this book. You see, I did adore City of Bones. And although City of Ashes has the best plot, in my opinion, it has the worst acting of the characters. Clary did so many things that I hated, and, yeah. I was just very hard for me to read about. But even so. This book is still one of my favorites. It is just as unique and well written and amazing as the others.

The writing in this book is just as perfect as the first book was. I really enjoy the writing. And I loved that we got to read this book from many different POVs. From Clary, mostly. And Jace, Simon, Maia and Valentine in the beginning. I loved reading from each different person. Well, mostly from Jace's POV :) He is still the person I love the most. And he will always be that.

The plot in this book is really amazing as well. There is so much happening all the time, and I loved it all. Well, mostly. The book starts out quite horrible, really. Jace is sort of betrayed, and feeling all alone and really hurt. And I am wanting to kill someone because of it. I don't think it's fair; hurting Jace. He is too precious to hurt. But oh. He is hurt so much in this book; and it is killing me.

In the beginning he is hurt by Maryse; the mother of Alec and Isabelle. But also Jace's mother for seven years. And I could have liked her. But oh. She is just so mean in the beginning. I might get it at the end, but I still don't find it okay. Alec and Isabelle has another brother; Max. He is only 9 but he is so adorable. Liked him a lot :)

The worst part of the beginning in this book though, is how cruel Clary is acting. I could blame it on her age or whatever. But I'm not going to. I feel that she is responsible, and I'm not happy about it at all. You see, Clary is a great character. Most of the time. But she doesn't care about Jace's feelings at all. And I hate her for it. She doesn't seem to care much about Simon, either, in that way.

So she is hurting them both. You see, she starts having an relationship with Simon. It isn't very big, but it happens, what, 2 or 3 days after she was in love with Jace? It is cruel. And she doesn't seem to give a damn about how Jace feels about it. And that is why I wasn't too happy with this book. Because Clary is like that in ALL the book. She doesn't care. And it kills me. Because I do. Very much.

Although I do think she loves Jace. But she isn't showing it, and I can understand why. Somehow. Because of the way things are. But even so. She should not have hurt Jace so much. There is a lot of new characters in this book. Like Maia. And I liked her; she is sort of awesome. A great character, at least :) Then there is Luke. And I liked him a bit better in this book. I think.

Then there is Valentine. He is the bad guy in this series. And oh. He is really creepy! I don't like him. But he makes the perfect story. He does really bad things, but he also have a reason for doing so. I may not agree with him, but I do see why he is the way he is. Evil. Then there is all the new demons in this book. And they are all horrible! Like Agramon. *Shudders.*

The story in this book is never ending. And I adored it so much. Also adored Magnus so so much. He is in this book a lot; and I do feel like Alec is using him. But it isn't like that; later on :) Magnus is just too awesome. Anyway, back to the plot. I don't want to spoil it; because it is just too damn good. There is so much happening, and it is so interesting as well.

Like in the beginning; in the Silent City with the Silent Brothers. They are really creepy. But in the cell at that part, it was just so horrible. But I still loved it so much. Then there was the time they are in the Seelie Court. I loved loved loved that. The kiss there is just swoon-worthy. But it is also so damn sad. But still, amazing. Then there is that vampire part. I was happy about it; but also un-happy about it. But, it is really awesome to read about :D

I hated everything about the Inquisitor. Imogen, her name was. I might have liked her at the end; but at first she is so horrible and cruel. And I hated what she did to Jace. Anyway! I think I have talked about the plot enough now :D Just wanted you to know how amazing these books are. Even with all the things I didn't like :p But the story is unique, and exciting, and so damn good.

If you have not read The Mortal Instruments yet, you really need to. You must start at City of Bones :) And if you have read it, you really need to read this sequel asap. It is worth it. For the most part :D I'm not looking forward to re-reading City of Glass. It is my favorite; but I hate the first 200 pages :\ Oh well. I am still going to re-read it :D Excited to, in a way.

I also wanted to share my tattoo with you guys. I have always wanted to get a tattoo. But I have been unsure about what tattoo to get. Then I turned 18 last year. And I got to thinking about what tattoo I should get. Then I remembered the Fearless rune in this book. (Page 282.) And I loved how amazing it sounded; the way it made you Fearless. And I knew it was perfect for me.

And, of course, I saw the gorgeous drawing of the Fearless rune. It is the one I love the most. And I just knew that I needed to have it. So I did. And I love it! Posting a picture below of how it looks like right now :) Also; I did blog about it in November; here. But my tattoo has changed a bit since then :) I got it in October last year. It is on my left wrist. Do you like it?

Review: City of Bones by Cassandra Clare

I first read City of Bones in September 2010, I believe. I read all the three books back then. The first time I read the books I wasn't that impressed; because I didn't know yet what would happen. But when I re-read the books I liked them so much more. The last time I read them was in February last year; before the forth book, City of Fallen Angels came out. I haven't dared to read them again until now.

And now I am only reading them because City of Lost Souls is coming out, and I have been dying for that book for a long, long time. The reason why I'm worried about reading these books is because they kill me. They break my heart over and over again. A year ago I was fine with it; but now I'm less fine with it. Have gotten very picky with what I like; and there is this huge thing in this book I'm unsure of.

City of Bones is the start of an amazing journey. It sucks me into an amazing story world. It seems so very real; that I can't help but imagine that it is, in fact, real. The writing is perfect, and I loved that it is mostly third person pov. Although it is mostly Clary's story. The plot in this book is just way too amazing. And I loved it so much. Also liked that it was in New York ;p Never been, though.

The story centers around 15 year old Clarissa Fray. Clary, for short. Although she does turn 16 in this book, and I was glad for that ;p Clary is a great character. She is smart, and mostly kind. And very sweet. I wish I could have loved her; but since I know how she is acting in book two and three, I don't have any love for her. Even though I do find her an amazing character; my first choice is Jace. Always.

And Jace is the best part of the series. Closely followed by the story. Jace is the ultimate bad boy, up front. But deep down he is a broken boy and there is no chance of not loving him. Jace is funny, and kind, and sweet, and he is perfect. He is sarcastic a lot, and I loved that about him. He might be a bit mean sometimes, but I see that as him trying to protect himself from getting hurt.

Jace is a Shadowhunter. And that is the part of this book I loved the most. Shadowhunters are part human, part angels hunting demons. They are trying their best to protect the world from the dangerous demons. And they do a fine job of it. Although it isn't a safe job to do. They fight a lot, and are for the most part covered in blood. And I loved that. Jace is the one who has killed the most demons.

A part from Jace, there is Alec and Isabelle. And Hodge. Alec is an amazing character; as is Isabelle. We get to know them both a lot more in the later books. And they are just awesome. Hodge seemed like such a great character; and he is. But he isn't. He is very selfish, but I also see why, somehow. Then there is Simon. Clary's human best friend. And I wish I could say I liked him.

And I would have, if he hadn't been in love with Clary. To me, he is the one who is to blame for all the heartbreak this series gives me. If he hadn't been there, Clary never would have hurt Jace so much. I wish she didn't care for him. But oh. Sigh. So much heartbreak. But still. Simon is a great character; later on :D Liked him a little bit in book three and four. Also; this might be evil of me, but I was wishing he would stay a rat in City of Bones (A) A bit :D

There is a love story in this book. It isn't strong at first, but it gets bigger. And I adored Jace and Clary together so much. Jace deserve to have the girl he loves. So, of course, Cassie needed to make it impossible :p Sigh. Won't spoil it, but it is horrible and cruel and I hated it. But it is an interesting plot line. But that's the thing. I felt like the books would have been better without it. But the romance in this book is great. It is real. And it is so sweet and adorable. And I just wish there was more.

Anyway, I loved City of Bones. Because of the amazing story, which I have not talked about much. But that is because I wish for you to read it yourself :D Then there is the perfect characters and the perfect writing. And, really, this book is just perfect. With a few flaws at the end; but I still loved it. I'm re-reading this series now because book five is almost out :) Can't wait. <3

But even though there are some things about this series that I cannot stand, it is still one of my all time favorite series. Because it has the most believable story line that I wish to live in. It has amazing writing. And it has amazing characters. It has the best boy; Jace. And it has so many amazing things. But, if you haven't read this series yet, I would recommend peeking at City of Glass (book three) first. Because it is hard to read this series without knowing what will happen. It is a must read, though :)

Favorite quote.

that to love is to destroy, and that to be loved is to be the one destroyed.

I cannot wait for this book! It sounds amazing. It reminds me of Graceling/Fire/Bitterblue by Kristin Cashore and it reminds me of Grave Mercy. And I loved all those books so much. And I just know that I will love this book just as much :) I hope. And I adore the cover. <3 Plus! I cannot wait to find out about the romance. <3 Just hope it isn't too heartbreaking. Today my teaser is from The Springsweet by Saundra Mitchell. I just read The Vespertine yesterday; which I loved so much. And I just needed to read The Springsweet right away. And I'm so glad I did. This book is amazing! You can read my review here. Posting a few teasers I loved :) Spoilers, though!
What are you reading?

There would always be a tender part of me, unhealed from that disastrous summer. How could it be anything but, with my first love and my first best friend, and so many others, given to death in it? But my mother's words came back to me, clearer than ever, and finally I believed her - I was alive. It was no longer a curse, no matter how complicated things had become here. ~ page 218

And a second one.

Raising his eyes to mine, he said nothing. He was wrecked; he was beautiful. And he'd spoken a perfect truth: it wouldn't be the end of the world to guess and get it wrong. There was always the glorious possibility I would get it right. So I leaned over, my thumb trailing the rise of his cheek, and I kissed him. I claimed him. He was mine. ~ page 245

Review: The Springsweet by Saundra Mitchell

I almost think I liked this book better than The Vespertine. But only almost. The Springsweet is a must read book if you have read The Vespertine. Although it would be great even if you haven't. This book is even shorter than the first one; and although I wished to much it had been longer I loved it the way it is. It has perfect writing, perfect characters, perfect plot and an perfect ending. Although a bit evil.

This book starts about a year after The Vespertine ended. This is Zora's story. So it has been a year since Thomas died; her almost-fiancé. And Zora is grieving. She is grieving a lot. Because not only did Thomas die, but also another of her close friends. And she believes that Nathaniel and Amelia is dead as well. So Zora is really hurting. She wants to die at times, too.

But instead of doing so, she does something crazy to be sent away from Baltimore. She kisses a stranger at a ball. I didn't like him much. But that is only because Zora didn't. Because he would have been an awesome love interest if he had been fit for Zora. But he isn't. Zora then is sent to live with her Aunt, Birdie. And her adorable child. I loved that a lot.

Although things didn't seem that good out there in the wild western. It wasn't anything like what Zora had thought it would be. I, for one, didn't enjoy it much. So much hard work o.O I never would have survived. lol :) But I did like all the characters. Although Birdie was very pushy with certain things; I did like her.

I don't want to give away too much plot, but that guy, Theo, ended up following Zora; hoping to court her. And, well, I didn't like it at all. There isn't any romance between them; although Theo does seem to be interested in Zora. She is just being polite and such, but she does hurt him in the end. But I enjoyed that a bit. Hih. He just wasn't a match for Zora.

When Zora arrived in the new town, she was robbed. And ended up having to walk her way to the town. But on her way she met Emerson. And ended up staying in his bed. But nothing happened; though ;p But it was the start of everything. That night Zora discovered she had a power of her own. And I enjoyed that very much. Liked her powers :)

Then we got to know Emerson. And omg. He is an amazing love interest. And I loved every scene that he was in. He is adorable. And kind. And sweet. And just way too amazing. I loved reading about Zora falling for him. Emerson also has some powers; and I loved them as well. He is sort of broken; in a way. He is all alone. And I felt sorry for him and loved him all the more.

The Springsweet is very different from The Vespertine. The setting is even more different; although still in the same time zone. And I liked that a lot. There is always things happening in this book; and I loved that Zora thought about Thomas so much. She loved him a lot. The plot in this book is so great, and the characters amazing.

The ending though, the ending is mean. It made me want so much more! But the ending is also happy. But there better be a sequel. There must be! I cannot if there isn't. And the sequel better have the same characters (A) Hih :) Just really hoping there will be another book. <3 Also? Remember all the people I disliked at the ending of book one? I still hated them all.

If you have read The Vespertine, then you must read this book. If not, then you must read them both :)

Review: The Vespertine by Saundra Mitchell

I loved this book. I really, really did. I wasn't supposed to read anything today; because of the ache in my arms. But I hadn't been able to stop thinking about this book. And I just needed to pick it up and start reading it. And I do not regret it even though my arms tells me differently. The Vespertine is an quick read book, but it is really great. A bit hard to read, but I loved it all.

The book is set in 1889, and it was a tiny bit confusing. But not by much. I understood mostly everything that was happening; and I liked it all. There was so many rules back then. I never would have been able to live at that time, I think o.O Too much rules and too much things to do and not to do.

This book is about Amelia. She lives in a small town with her brother and his wife; but she is getting of age so it's time to marry her off. Sort of. So Amelia is sent to stay with her cousin; Zora. And I enjoyed that a lot. It was nice to see Amelia arriving in a new place. A much bigger place than she is used to. And I enjoyed the people she were living with.

Amelia is an amazing character. She is just normal, at first. Very kind and loving and sweet. But then she has a vision; and it turns out to come true. And then everyone wants to have their future read by her. I don't want to give too much away, but I found it to be very exciting and interesting what she could do and how she did it :)

Then there was Zora. She isn't much like the other young ladies in that time. She is a bit of a rebel. But oh, I loved that about her. She and Amelia are great as friends, and I loved that as well. Zora is a sweet girl and she is very kind. She has a crush on Thomas, and I liked that a lot. But also hated it at times.

They have some other friends as well. Like Sarah and Mattie. And I did not like Sarah at all. She seemed so.. cruel, at times. But I did enjoy reading about Mattie :) She was sweet. But even though I didn't like Sarah much, I hated what happened to her near the end. It was horrible. And cruel. But also really great to read about; because it made the story more amazing.

Then there were Nathaniel. He is adorable. But he isn't a suitable match for Amelia. Not wedding-material. But that doesn't stop her for falling for him. And it doesn't stop him either. And omg. I loved the romance in this book. It was just so sweet and awesome and so good. Nathaniel is a mystery. But he is so kind and sweet, and I loved what we learned of him.

The plot in this book is just as good as the setting and the characters. I loved the story in this book. It is unique, and exciting and so damn good. I just loved it all. Don't want to spoil it since the book is so short :D Just know it is amazing. But it is also horrible and cruel. But written so well. Then there is the ending. I liked it, but I'm a bit mad that it wasn't any longer. Really wished it was.

Also, by the end of The Vespertine I didn't like any of the characters. They were all mean and cruel. Except for Amelia and Nathaniel. So that was good. <3 Now I need to get ready to read the sequel :D It will be Zora's story. And I'm so excited about it even though I would wish for more Amelia. Hopefully she will be in the book :) Anyway, have you not read this book yet you really should do so. It is so amazing. The romance is hot, the story amazing.
