My Wish for Bitterblue by Kristin Cashore

I really want Bitterblue by Kristin Cashore. I loved Graceling and Fire so so much, and I am dying to read Kristin's next book. I love her writing, and I love her story world. I am so excited for Bitterblue because it is the sequel to Graceling. And even though this isn't Katsa and Po's story anymore, I know I will love it just as much.

I'm writing this blog post because I wanted to ask if anyone has an ARC of Bitterblue they could give to me, or share with me, or sell to me. I live in Norway, and I would gladly pay shipping for it. I'm asking here on my blog because I know I won't get an ARC any other way.

I have sent an email to the publisher; but I don't think they will ship to Norway. (No one ever has.) And I can't seem to find any contest for Bitterblue. Not that I would win in one; since I never seem to win the prizes I want the most ;p

It would mean so much to me, if anyone has a copy of Bitterblue for me. It would make my year. I want Bitterblue more than I want any other book, and that kind of says a lot :)

My review of Graceling. My review of Fire. My international paperback giveaway of Graceling.

Review: Fire by Kristin Cashore

I think I loved this book as much as I loved Graceling. Well, except for the fact that Fire had even less romance than Graceling did :p But oh. It didn't really need it. It is so so amazing all on its own.

This book has it all. It has an amazing plot, it has tons of action, and some romance, and it has amazing characters that you just can't help but fall in love with.

The plot in this book is amazing. I loved learning about the Dells. I loved the monsters. And I loved that Fire was a "human monster" :) Found it all to be so amazing. I loved what Fire could do.

I kind of hated the beginning of this book. I hate Immiker/Leck. Find him to be very sick and twisted. Don't like him at all. But, he does make interesting story ;) A very good villain. There were so many people in this book that I loved. I loved Fire. I loved Brigan. And I loved most if not all the guards.

I didn't really like Archer much, because of his history with Fire, but I do suppose he used to make a good friend. And he isn't really that bad, I just didn't like him very much ;p I also hated Fire's father. Even though he was dead in the book, I hated hearing about how he was.

I loved Prince Brigan; even though he didn't really leave a good first impression. Although, I still loved him then (A) He is extremely kind, and nice, and handsome, and smart, and just overall amazing. The same is Fire. She is strong. And oh, so amazing. Loved her. I also really loved a lot of the other characters; which I am sure you'll too once you read it ;)

I was, like with Graceling, disappointed in the lack of romance. There was romance, amazing romance, but it wasn't much. I just wanted more :) There was also a whole lot of more time jumps in Fire then there was in Graceling. Didn't care for it much, but still, it did make sense. Sort of :)

This book has made me want Bitterblue even more. And I am dying to read it. Hoping I might find/win an ARC of it :) So, so, so, so excited to read it. <3 Don't think I have the patience to wait until May.

Anyway, this book is amazing. And a must read if you have read Graceling. But even if you haven't, you could still just read this book. Although it is more amazing if you have read Graceling first ;)

Review: Fracture by Megan Miranda

I don't know how to start this review. This was a very quick read. I both loved it, and hated it. I figure I can't write this review without spoilers, so beware if you haven't read it, and do not want to be spoiled :) Because I will spoil you with my review :p

I can start by saying that I loved the writing. And I loved the story. Found the characters to be kind of amazing, well, mostly just Decker (A) Loved him so much. I hated Troy. And Delaney's parents. Although I really shouldn't have. But I still did.

I kind of liked Delaney. Mostly. But she was kind of stupid, and I don't like that. But I did love having the book from her POV. And I did like what she could do. And I really liked the beginning of the book.

What I hated though, what I hated so extremely much, was that there wasn't really any love or romance in this book. It was all just sad. And I hate that. I hated that none of them admitted their feelings. And I hated that they both kissed other people. And were dating other people. That is just not something I could EVER like. Not even when the book was so amazing.

Which is why I am giving this book a four star. The story is worthy of a five star, but because of the drama with the romance, that was only worthy of a three star to me, personally. I was hoping the book would have been longer, because even though the last page was happy, it was only one page. Which to me, was not fair after all the pain. But that's just my opinion :)

Even so, this book is worth reading. It is a very fast read, and the story is really amazing. Except for that one part that I told about :)

Teaser Tuesday #7

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

Today my teaser is from Fracture by Megan Miranda :) I just started reading this book; and am already on page 71. I am so nervous. Because even though I know the ending, I also know some bad stuff about the middle of the book that I will hate.. But, I am loving it so far :D
What are you reading?

I pulled back and looked at him. My face was two inches, maybe three, from his own.
I could just lift myself onto my toes and I'd be kissing him. I could just pull his face down
to my own and his lips would be on mine. ~ page 67

Review: Dark Inside by Jeyn Roberts

I had been looking forward to reading this book for some weeks now. I am quite sad with how much it disappointed me :\ I wasn't sure what star to give it. The story is worth a 3.5, but for me, the writing is only a 2.5..

I get why many people love this book, and if I hadn't been so obsessed with good writing I would have loved it too. I liked the plot. Found it to be great. I also liked that there were so many different POVs. Was a bit worried at first, but I really liked that.

We got to know the story of a lot of people. And I enjoyed that. Although it didn't really "close" at the ending of the book; I felt there could have been a hundred pages more. So that is good about the book. The plot is kind of amazing, and the characters were likable. Sort of.

There wasn't any romance, which I kind of disliked. Although there was a few tiny romances, they didn't make me feel anything. But that might be because of how terrible I thought the writing was. You would like this book if you don't mind bad writing.

But oh, I can't stand it. I kind of hated the writing. It wasn't good. It didn't seem.. real. It didn't make me feel anything. And it made it hard for me to keep reading :\ But still, it is a good book. Mostly. If you are able to stand the writing :)

~

Update July 7th 2013: I had to change my rating for this book from a three star to a two star. Why? Because while it has been a while since I read it, I just realized that I was not being honest when rating it. I did not enjoy it as much as I claimed with my three star rating. And because of that I had to change it. Because I like being honest, and giving this a star more than it deserve is not being honest. It is officially a two star for me, because I can’t even remember much of the story, and I would not ever re-read the book. I’m sorry, but not really, because you can’t love every book.

Review: Graceling by Kristin Cashore

I have so many emotions right now. Love. Sadness. Happiness. I am mosly happy. I LOVED this book :) And oh, I want more. So, so much more. Can't wait to read Fire and Bitterblue :) Although I wish more of Katsa and Po the most. Loved them.

I loved the plot in this book. I loved the 'gifts' people have, and everything about them. I loved the way the book started, found it to be amazing. I loved that the book was from Katsa's POV, all the way through, and I loved the writing. Such good writing.

Katsa was amazing. So brave, kind, loving and strong. Although she may not seem so to others, or at all in the beginning. But she is. She really is. I hated Randa. So extremely much. Kind of happy with how that ended. I also never liked Giddon. Glad he wasn't much in the book :)

But oh, I kind of loved Raffin. He was adorable :) And so kind. Also liked many of the other characters, but don't want to list them all (A) Hih.

I loved Po the most. As I tend to do. He was so handsome, and kind, and strong, and just everything. He may have lied a bit in the beginning, but I so understood that. Po is an amazing character. And oh, I just want so much more about him. <3

I liked the Seven Kingdoms. Even though most of them were screwed up. I just liked the way everything was. Loved all the travelling they did, and I never found the book to be boring.

And oh, the romance. There were romance. First there was friendship, and I loved the friendship, but I loved the romance more. <3 Although there wasn't really much romance. But I loved what there was of it. <3 So amazing.

And now I am going to share some SPOILERY thoughts. So if you have NOT read the book, then you really should not read what I write next :) You should just buy the book and read it. <3 A MUST read.

I kind of really loved it when they found Bitterblue. She was adorable. But also kind of felt like she was in the way (A) A tiny bit. But I didn't mind so much. But oh. I HATED it when Po got injured, and then they left him. That was so damn sad.

And then so so so so so much time passed :( I hate it when time passes. Especially when we don't even know if Po is alright or alive. But then again, I understand why so much time had to pass. Considering it kind of does take forever to travel :p Still don't like it though.

And when they finally went back to Po, he was so.. hurt. And unhappy. I hated it. I love Po so much, and damn, that hurt. I hated that he lost his sight. But because of his Grace, I could forgive it. But oh, it must have been so hard for him to be all alone as well as blind :( Damn. I am just way too sad :p Although, the book did end happy.

But I just wish there was more. I need more Po. And more Katsa. But I only want them together :p Anyway, this is a must read book :) So amazingly good. So glad that I read it. <3

I know it's been a very, very long time since I had a Teaser Tuesday post up,and my only excuse for that is because I haven't been reading anything on Tuesdays (A) Didn't read much over the holidays, and in January I just waited for A Million Suns to come out :) I am not sure if this book count for a teaser tuesday, considering I started and finished it yesterday. But my teaser today is from The Replacement by Brenna Yovanoff :) (My review is here.) What are you reading?

"What are you doing here?" I said. "I gave you what you wanted, so quit harassing Emma."

And another one.

I pulled her closer, holding her so her head was tucked under my chin. "I'm not normal, Tate."

Review: The Replacement by Brenna Yovanoff

I have wanted to read this book for a long time. But I have been a bit unsure about it. But then in December, I read Brenna's second book; The Space Between. And I really liked that one. So today I finally started this book. I was not supposed to finish it right away, but I could not stop reading.

It is amazing. I loved the writing, and I love that the whole book is from a guy's POV. Or rather, Mackie. I really enjoyed it. It was exciting from beginning to end, something was always happening. I loved all the characters, every single one. Especially his sister, Emma :)

Mackie is a great leading character, and I loved him. He is a bit.. special. But oh, I loved loved loved that about him. It just made it all so much better. He is also kind, and loving, and funny. And very lovable.

The plot is kind of amazing. I loved everything about it. Don't want to say much, because that would be a bit spoilery, but I enjoyed it all :) Found it to be very interesting, and kind of very belivable. Which I don't always do while reading books.

One of the bad guys, The Lady, made me picture the blind witch in Hansel and Gretel; the Once Upon A Time edition that aired last night. Which made it all so much better ;)

I don't have a whole lot to say about this book, other than the fact that it is amazing. And a must read. I was a bit sceptic because of the summary, but it so so so much better that I thought it would be. <3

Review: A Million Suns by Beth Revis

I loved this book. It was amazing, but I still kind of thought that Across the Universe was better (A) But that is for a very obvious reason, that many people probably don't share :) The romance.

A Million Suns started three months after Across the Universe finished. I kind of don't like time jumps, but this wasn't so bad. Mostly. The plot is still amazing; I just love everything about it. I love the ship, and a few of the people, mostly just Elder and Amy. But that is enough for me :)

I kind of hated all the hate towards Elder as the Leader in this book. Although I do understand it. But I wish it wasn't so. Also wish they would just drug them all again :D Even if that is mean and whatever. Things would be so much easier with Phydus.

I loved the clue hunt they were on, found it very exciting. I also kind of like Orion. And I don't totally understand why Amy hates him sooo much. But we'll see in book three :) Although, I do hate him as well. Just not that much.

There were a lot of deaths in this book. Many people who deserved to die, but also so many who didn't. Also, the murderer was a huge mystery. I kind of suspected the person who did it, but I had another person as my first suspect ;p

We learn a lot more of other characters in this book, which I also kind of liked. This book also made me love Elder so much more. He is even pant less! :D Which was a very good thing in the book. Wish it was more scenes like that. But oh, Elder got hurt a lot in this book. Most physically, which really sucked :\

The mystery about the ship is very big in this book, and I liked how it all turned out. But oh, the cliffhanger is huge. But I am so so so excited for book 3, Shades of Earth :D

I loved that Amy finally told Elder what happened to her in Across the Universe. But oh, it took a long long long time before she did :p And I felt that it didn't focus much on it, not as much as I had hoped. But then, there wasn't really time for it. I really wish to know who did the murder, though :)

There was this one thing I hated. Which you should NOT READ if you don't want SPOILERS. This book had even less romance than the first one. Even though there was a lot more love in this one. I hated the last few pages. Where they had an argument, and then Amy says they can't be together or whatever. I don't understand why she feels so strongly about it. And either way, she should feel more strongly for Elder than for that issue. It just.. felt so damn selfish. And I hated that :p But, I have a tiny hope. Since Beth told me some weeks ago that book 1 is about Hope and book 2 is about Faith and book 3 is Love. And oh, I just hope there will be love in book 3. From the beginning, not just in the end.. :)

Anyway, this was an amazing book, and if you haven't read it yet, do so! :)
